Randy Sampson - CEO & Chairman of the Board
Canterbury Park & Canterbury Commons
Sampson co-founded Canterbury Park with his father in 1994 and has served as its President and Chief Executive Officer and on the Company’s Board of Directors since inception. Mr. Sampson was also named Chairman of the Board on October 3, 2019. As the Company’s current Chairman & CEO, Mr. Sampson has an in-depth understanding of the Company’s real estate development efforts, financial position and opportunities. After graduating from college with a degree in accounting, Mr. Sampson worked for five years in the audit department of Deloitte & Touche where he earned his CPA certification.
Jason Haugen - Director of Development
Canterbury Commons
Haugen is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, earning a B.S. in Geology. He worked in the environmental and engineering field where he was exposed to multiple development projects which led him to enroll in an MBA program at the University of St. Thomas with a focus in Finance and Real Estate. Haugen’s last development role was with Kilbourne Group where he managed development and programming for a number of mixed-use buildings. Kilbourne Group revitalized downtown Fargo, North Dakota with $250 million in development and construction.
Randy Dehmer - CFO & VP of Finance
Canterbury Park
Dehmer is a native of St. Michael, Minn. and graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He began his career at Ernst & Young, serving there as senior accountant until he first joined Canterbury Park in 2007. In 2019 Dehmer returned to Canterbury Park and now oversees Canterbury's finance department as well as cash operations and purchasing.
Dale Schenian – Board Vice Chairman Emeritus
Mr. Schenian has been a director since 1994 and served as Vice Chair of the Board from 1994 to October 2019. Upon retiring as Vice Chair of the Board, Mr. Schenian assumed the title as Vice Chairman Emeritus. Although Mr. Schenian was a founding director of the Company, he has never served as an officer or an employee of the Company. From 1990 to 2004, Mr. Schenian was President and Chief Executive Officer of City Auto Glass Companies, a company he founded in 1990, and continued to serve as its Chairman of the Board until December 2015.
Maureen Bausch - Board Member
Ms. Bausch is currently a partner in Bold North Associates, providing experiential and consulting services for retail, event and destination attraction businesses. Ms. Bausch served from December 2014 until February 2018 as CEO and an Executive Board Member of the Super Bowl Host Committee in connection with the February 4, 2018 Super Bowl LII held in Minneapolis. Prior to that, Ms. Bausch worked in positions of increasing responsibility at the Mall of America, serving most recently as Executive Vice President, managing the $1 billion asset.
Mark Chronister - Board Member
Mr. Chronister retired in 2007 as an audit partner in the Minneapolis office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC) after 34 years at the firm. He was Market Managing Partner of the Twin Cities office for eight years, including two years as a Cluster Managing Partner for Coopers & Lybrand. During that time, he oversaw the merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand in Minneapolis. He also served as Business Development Partner focused on developing and deepening relationships with non-audit service companies.
John Himle - Board Member
Mr. Himle is CEO of Himle LLC, a specialized consultancy that advises companies, not-for-profit entities, and other organizations with insight and strategy related to shaping complex business decisions and related matters. Mr. Himle was the founder and CEO of Himle Horner and Himle Rapp and Co. before selling his interests in 2017. He also served five terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives holding a series of leadership positions, including Assistant Majority Leader and Assistant Minority Leader.
Carin Offerman - Board Member
Ms. Carin Offerman as the Company’s Lead Director. Ms. Offerman has served as a Company director since 1994, and currently chairs the Board’s Compensation and Nominating Committees, along with serving as a member of the Audit Committee. Ms. Offerman, a successful securities industry executive, formerly served as President and CEO of Offerman & Company, a regional investment banking and retail broker-dealer firm.
